When Do You Make Time For Yourself?

Have you put yourself on your calendar recently?

There's no getting around the old adage that "you can't pour from an empty cup", which is where the real value behind work-life integration comes into play.

With so many people and projects needing my attention and energy lately, investing in my own self-care needs had fallen completely off track... Such sadness!

Thus, a few weeks back, after scouring resources, I figured out a way to get to Colorado for a couple days. Thank goodness for my incredible squad and lofty squad goals so I can surround myself with those who help me stay alive and productive.

Now, I'm wondering when I can get back to Telluride: evening s'mores by the pool, hiking Bear Creek Trail to an amazing waterfall view, hot stone massages, Roby leading us horseback riding around the Delores River, foraging for flavorful ingredients to create our own cocktails as well as bitters throughout a hike on the Ridge Trail with Tracy Remelius of Madeline Hotel & Residences, making friends along the way (such as our arrival driver Bob of Mountain Limo along with the inspiring Kourtney Richard) and eating some of the best food I've had anywhere around the globe, like brunch at 221 South Oak and dinner at There… New American Restaurant. It was the perfect mix of relaxing, exercising, taking in the beauty of this planet and reconnecting with my friend, Heather Hooper.

Thanks, Tim McGraw, for the inspiration from your original Telluride song back in 2001!

As I dream of my next vacation, plotting how to make it occur, I stay committed to incorporating time for my mind, body and spirit into daily life, realizing the importance of all elements of life existing in harmony for my true productivity, including home, work, community and caring for myself.

How are YOU putting yourself on your calendar today, tomorrow, throughout this week and well into next week?
